Bekkinakaadu, an Introduction

A stream connects two large reservoirs across this 25-acre farm at the foot of Savanadurga mountain, right up against forest land. The terrain rolls through slopes, peaks and scattered boulders that transport you to a completely different world — home to birds, bears, elephants and wildcats, and the setting for Kenneth Anderson's famous story of a panther in the Magadi region. All just outside Bangalore.

Hallimane, the Farm Room, is nearer to the core work and dining area at the farm — large, quiet and private, on the upper floor.

Getting to Bekkinakaadu, Magadi

Thagachaguppe Village is right on Magadi Road, a few kms before Magadi Town — you can even take a BMTC regular or Volvo bus (V-240M) to this bus stop. From there it's less than 300m to the farm: up a concrete road, around a temple, down a kuchha road, and to the gate on your left.
